View Full Version : Day Trading from the Caribbean!
Bill Stacy 2nd January 2009, 09:11 PM I'm off to the Caribbean!
Got to love the freedom to fly at a moment's notice! I had no idea where Haiti was on Tuesday and now I'll be out of the country again between January the 3rd and 21st 2009. I've been invited to the exciting Isle of Haiti (and the Dominican Republic) for a 10 day Day Trading Training Session. My year is off to a flying start - literally! :beach: :drink-toast:
I hope to get back and start immediately on the Day Trading DVDs. I might even get some screen recording done while I'm away. In the Caribbean Australian Day Trading commences in the evening so I'll have a lot of time to keep planning the Day Trading Videos.
Let's not kid ourselves though; Haiti has had some trouble in the recent past but the UN is keeping the peace and I'm in the safe corporate hands of The Trylon Global Communications Infrastructure (Compu-Global-Hyper-Mega-Net...lol) Corporation who have invited me to train some of their managers in the art of Day Trading (long story). I'll be enjoying their complete hospitality and the company of their security forces at all times so there's a fairly good chance that I'll probably make it back alive...lol.
In the meantime, I'll be online most days as well (except maybe when I'm enjoying the "wild weekend in the Dominican Republic") so it's business as usual. The good thing about trading and running an internet company of course is that I get to trade and travel and enjoy my life from any corner of the globe. Yet another reason to learn how to trade options online.
Take care and I'll return on the 21st. So it's off to Sydney, then LA, the Miami and the Port Au Prince - Haiti... :clapping:
Bill Stacy 4th January 2009, 01:41 PM After a 5 hour delay in Sydney we finally got away on Qantas' inaugural flight of their brand new Airbus A380 (we were the first passengers ever aboard this $330,000,000 aircraft. It was a great journey (smooth as silk and it took no time at all (12 hours once we managed to get off the ground (a few teething problems but then again...it is Qantas after all).
Here's a shot of my in LA.

The 5 hour delay means I missed my connecting flight to Miami so Qantas (bless 'em) put me up at The Hilton LAX for a few hours which is where I'm typing this message from. No time left so I'll post again later from Haiti.
I love LA.
Bill Stacy 6th January 2009, 11:00 PM Here's a shot of me arriving in Port Au Prince (Haiti). This shot shows pretty much the entire airport building front.

I've seen some very amazing things here some of which I can not even mention in a public forum others (like people walking around with shotguns and street stalls and the stunningly chaotic traffic) I'll try to take some shots of as I go along. Already this has been one of the most eye opening experiences of my life.
Mick and Pete are great and very keen to learn. They have been looking after me very well and I feel very safe in their hands and care. I'll try to take some more shots of the life here as I go along. It is simply amazing and I fear I will not be able to adequately describe what I am seeing.
Next weekend we are heading over to the Dominican Republic (the other 2/3rds of the island) which should make for a few days of exciting experiences (from what I'm being described). Looking forward to it.
Mark Scown 8th January 2009, 12:46 PM I hope you remembered Mick's Vegemite Bill......

Lee P 13th January 2009, 09:36 AM Hey Bill,
You look like you are having fun, but I'm a little disappointed that at an exotic beach like that, you haven't even got into the water past your shins! Come on, have a go on one of those inflatables and send us the pics, you only live once! Also just out of curiosity and those scary photos of the power lines, is the power source very reliable there?
Best wishes
Lee
Bill Stacy 13th January 2009, 12:06 PM Had a nasty experience with sunburn in Fiji in 2005 and since then I stay out of the sun as much as possible. Plus, believe me, you do not want to see me in any "active water/swimming" shots.
Bill Stacy 13th January 2009, 12:20 PM Those power lines are actually cable TV. They "borrow" a lot from their neighbours I guess. This is an entirely different planet I'm on. We are soooooo lucky in the west. I'm coming home with a whole new appreciation...believe me!

Typing an email to you all (via the mailing list) in my Motel in Haiti.
Today my trip is over and I'm heading back to Miami for a few days before hopping aboard a plane which will hopefully be able to stay well away from the Hudson River before flying to LA and eventually Sydney and home to Adelaide.
JULIAN.R 18th January 2009, 04:17 AM Bill that drink on your left looks tasty

Bill Stacy 14th January 2010, 10:57 AM Last night (our time) Haiti was hit by a massive 7.3 earthquake. It was devastating.
All the photos I took and that you can see in the Haiti Gallery (above) are of areas that have been affected or destroyed.
Fellow OneDayWealth members Pete Yeardon and Mick Scown are reportedly safe.
Please give to the Red Cross.
