1) Click here to download Skype 3.5 (http://onedaywealth.s3.amazonaws.com/downloads/Skype3.50.exe). (22mb)

2) Buy a Logitech ClearChat Comfort USB Headset like this: http://www.logitech.com/index.cfm/webcam_communications/internet_headsets_phones/devices/3621&cl=au,en (approximately $50.00 at Dick Smith or Harvey Norman)

3) Add me to your contacts. My username is OneDayWealth (or V8Cash or Bill Stacy)

Skype Tip:

If you open on your skype program (double click on the skype icon in your tool tray), go into File --> Edit Your Profile and in the "Full name field" enter your full real name so we can see who you are.

Otherwise, people will only see your weird skype name. Anyone joining the OneDayWealth chatline should do this now. The rest of you should do it anyway.

Skype Version 4 does NOT support Public Chats.

Apparently Public chats are not supported by Skype anymore.

At the moment the only solution I can think of is to uninstall and downgrade to a version 3 of Skype (which is just the most stupid thing I have heard for hours).

Here's what Skype have "decided"...

Why can I not join a Public IM in Skype 4.0 for Windows?
Sometimes not every new idea gains traction or enough usage to justify continued support. With the new version of Skype 4.0 for Windows, Public IM will no longer be available. It was a tough decision for us, but we want to ensure that we prioritize our time and resources on core communications offerings such as voice and video, expanding Skype among business users, and expanding Skype into mobile and other platforms.

That means that unless we all downgrade to version 3 my trade talk chats are not going to work.

Fortunately I have saved my previous versions of Skype 3.5 and have uploaded it to my servers for everyone to download.

1) Uninstall Skype. Say "No" to deleting history or the uninstall process will delete all your history!

2) Click here to download Skype 3.5 (http://onedaywealth.s3.amazonaws.com/downloads/Skype3.50.exe). (22mb)

3) Install the old Version 3.5 of Skype to be able to join my Trader's Chatlines.

In the meantime I'll try to find another solution but I've got other things I need to do (such as finish the Day Trading HomeStudy) so it's not a massive priority for me at the moment.

Sigh.

After creating a Skype account you (and other people) will notice that you are still displaying your weird skype name that you had to use to get a skype account for example; Bill1234_aus. This is unsuitable and some of them just don't make any sense at all.

What you need to do is open your main skype Programme and click on File then Edit Your Profile and where it says Full Name just put your full name or at least your first name.

For people that you add to your contact group you can rename them to reflect their real first name if you know what it is by right clicking their icon and choosing "rename". It would help you do some grouping if you put the letters ODW in front of their names so you can easily identify who is a OneDayWealth contact. If you want to be really sporty you can add 1DW so they all go straight to the top (which is where we all belong - naturally).

Does anyone operate two Skype accounts on the one computer?

I've Googled and found some instructions via a forum but I don't seem to be able to do it.

I'd like a separate account for ODW and for family & friends so I can concentrate on a trade & the ODW chats and not be interupted by friends & family from all over the place. I want to show my true 'status' while I'm online but keep it separate.

Cheers

You should be able to just log out (File --> Sign out) and then log back in again with the other user.

I do that now but when I'm trading I prefer not to show as 'online' and have my Mum or someone else contacting me when I only want to be dealing with ODW. I've had family contact me by Skype phone & half of my screen gets taken up by it ringing - not good when trying to change prices on a trade!

I'd prefer to have my ODW contact separate from my personal so I can keep my status current. I keep it 'invisible' most times but for instance when I'm chatting to you, you can't see if I'm actually there.

No biggy I suppose - just something I wanted to do to tweek my admin.

Yep, so just make the trading login a new user (ODWAroha) and login as that person when you are trading. If you don;t share that log in name with anyone you should be ok to be left alone.
