View Full Version : $2,000 Charity Giveaway TONIGHT!

Due to some exceptional profits over the last 3 days (turned $8,000 into $22,000) I've decided to give away 10% to charity and was then matched immediately by other profitable traders.

Here's proof.

http://www.onedaywealth.com/images/trading-proof/8k-22k.gif

So, here's the deal.

I'll decide who but...

OneDayWealth will give $2,000 away tonight to charity or a family who really needs it.

So, who know of the best way to distribute this AUD$2,000? Tonight! Personally!

I will put the money in your Paypal account or will direct deposit straight into your account and your job tonight will be to take as much cash around there tonight as possible and promise the rest tomorrow or as soon as the cash clears into your account.

I have also started an eBay auction for my full course plus 4 hours of personal phone coaching! Bidding has started!

Go!

I know someone (as an example) who has a son that has been fighting a brain tumour for the last probably 7 years know I'd say, on top of that she looks after her mother fulltime so she doest have to be in a home,he rmother is always in and out of hospital (the family have been 'called in' (to say their goodbyes) on at least 5 occassions, it is always a constant struggle for her and she is truely an angel on earth. In saying that they have a warm place to live and food on the table and James (her son) news from his MRI was good news this week (the tumour has actually shrunk). This is the most deserving family I can think of, and I'm sure there are others who need it much much more...

Or, does anyone have any better ideas as to how to distribute it?

THANK YOU FOR DOING THIS BILL! :odwrocks:

This nursing home is right across the street from where I live... http://www.cht.co.nz/rest-homes-royal-oak.html

I'm sure the $2k will come in handy. (This is not as personal as Tina's suggestion though)

Cheers,

Tina
30th July 2009, 05:11 PM
Thats an excellent idea Annelize, I never even thought of a nursing home!

(my suggestion was really just to get people thinking, my friend lives across the ditch so I even though I would love to be able to surprise her with something like this I wouldnt be able to get there anyway. I gave her $100 a few years ago so it meant one of her other kids could have the chance of a league scholarship and she cried for ages because she was so grateful)

I know of a young lady who is raising 3 children on her own with minimal help. The eldest is 16 and the youngest is 5. She commenced studying so that she would be more employable, however she has had to stop studying as she is unable to afford the fees. Her weekly income is $300 per week, and her weekly rent is $280. The father of her children is not supporting her financially and lives in the otherside of Australia. She is not the type of person who would ask for help. Lets help Lisa..

I'd like to give even more to https://www.rnzfb.org.nz/howtodonate as well.

If not this time, definitely in the future :2tu:

Wait a minute Tina - across the ditch in NZ?! I'd be more than happy to deliver - tell me they're in Auckland :crossfingers:

I know of a "Street Access" van run by a church here in Townsville. It goes out to the people who live on the streets to give them food and drinks. The van goes out several times per week to the homeless. Funds and donations are always needed to help feed these people.

Bill Stacy
30th July 2009, 05:24 PM
That's perfect Lil! I think the cold and hungry need us first (we're very lucky). Does anyone have any thoughts on that?

Tina
30th July 2009, 05:34 PM
There are so many deserving people (sorry Annelize she is in Chch :-( ) A bit off track but favourite tv program is "Random acts of kindness" where they choose deserving people and do really nice things for them.

Annelize Faul

No worries Tina! Next time.

I'd say we're very blessed Bill!

(Hope they're up and about tonight?!)

When I have a spare $2,000, I will donate it to ASDOGS (NQ) Inc (Assistance Dogs NQ). They buy, feed and train dogs and give them to disabled people. The dogs are trained to help disabled people do things that we all take for granted. It takes approximately $20,000 to train a fully qualified assistance dog and they do not get government funding. $2,000 would pay for 3 puppies expenses for a whole year. My son has been lucky enough to have received an assistance dog that is trained to alert us before he has a seizure. I would give them the money.

I'd like to keep a theme...

I made it in one day.

I can give it away in one day.

It can reach a target the same day.

It can go from the Stock market to the street in one day.

That's the power of options day trading.

What a fantastic idea. I love the thought of giving it to all of the above, however, I know the van giving food to the homeless would be a non for profit organisation and would rely heavily on the community for keeping the supply of food and hot soups, drinks etc. going. Food for thought!!!

Bill,

The 'Street Van' is an excellent start. As you know from my job I have had a lot to do with these type of services. No Govt. funding exists for these most generous souls who deliver this service to an ever increasing number of less fortunate people. I would like to lend my support for this suggestion. And thank you for your kindness

That is a great gesture Bill,
Being able to make a difference in other peoples lives, gives trading a whole new meaning, and changes the focus from just our own wealth and and wellbeing.
True wealth is being able to share, and we are promised, what we give out we get back ten fold.

Go OneDayWealth.

Great thing you have done Bill and no doubt will continue to do. My wife and I have been blessed throughout our lives with being able to help many people in need and want that to continue into the future. You get a very special and awesome feeling when you do that genuinely and with One Day Wealth we know that many deserving people and charities will benefit in the future simply because you, Bill, decided to share your great knowledge with anyone who wanted to have a better life and then help others as well. Congratulations on this awesome idea and I want to be one of those who donates and delivers in the not too distant future
Kind Regards

Hi everyone....I have since found out from the people who run and drive the access van, that the motor has just blown up.....and you guessed it...the amount to fix the motor is....$2000!!!! Trudy had to sit down as she got such a surprise and then the tears started for her and me! So while the van is out of action the homeless dont get the food. So all because of Bill and ODW this van will be out and about serving the homeless. Photos to come.....:odwrocks:

Thanks Lil! What a great job you're doing up there. Sorry to make you both cry but how ironic that my money goes into an engine. For an old Hot Rodder like me that's just poetic. I've cried over an engine or two myself but not to make too light of the matter - great work!

Thank you very much Lil!

Hi I found this thread while googling for Assistance Dogs... random!! Bill I think what you did is awesome :) I have friends who work in a food van (a different one) and I know how much $2000 would mean to a food van!!! :)

Tracy I have an assistance dog from AsDogs (NQ) too! They've helped me so much, and I'm glad they were able to help your son :) They're a fantastic organisation.

Bill what a awesome idea and Lil I bet they were in tears and who knows this might be your avenue Bill to show people out there how different ODW is to all the so called money making systems. ODW is not all just about making money but also about helping those in need. Fantastic! I look forward to helping out in the future.

Hi Bill

Thought I would give you an update on the Street Access van...there was a lot that I found out today that I didn’t know before.

The van goes out every Monday Wednesday and Friday, is manned purely by volunteers. It is not run by any particular church, but supported by churches in way of some finances. The food is donated by Brumbies, Foodbank, tubs of margarine donated by pensioners cos that’s all they can afford. Trudy manages to buy sliced cold meat in lots of 20kgs from Woollies when it is on special.

They serve sandwiches soups and whatever food that is donated at the time. The van broke down 1 week ago, and work will commence on the motor this weekend. The van is 18 years ago and was donated to Trudy by her best friends husband after she died.

The volunteers have still gone out this week in their own cars, to feed the homeless, but no hot food or drinks were served. They supply blankets jumpers and jackets to those in need also.

Trudy was off this morning for a well earned break...this lovely lady is exhausted from managing this charity, with its volunteers, and by the sound of it, the van breaking down was pretty much the last straw. It was a thrill to know that she was going off for a break (reluctantly I believe) knowing that the vans motor will soon be fixed.

I also heard a story of a man (probably around your age Bill) who had a very high paying job in the mines, who came across a vehicle accident where he assisted the occupants, only to have the young male driver die in his arms. This man went completely off the rails after this experience and ended up losing his well paid job and family, turned to alcohol and drugs and ended up homeless. As a result of the access van and its workers this man is now in rehab and coming along very nicely!

All in all a great charity to support Bill, very worthy indeed and the money will not be wasted.

Take care and thank you!

Lil

I just received this email from Trudy.

Hello Bill,

My name is Trudy Lightfoot and I am the Coordinator of the Access Street Van in Townsville.

Thank you so very much for your very generous donation, as I said to Lil, "wow people are so good". I have attached a receipt.

Lil probably informed you that the motor on our Nissan Nomad had just ceased and the mechanic who works on the van had just told me it would cost $2,000.00, so it was absolutely awesome to receive this amount.

Our mechanic works on our van free of charge so it only costs us parts, and he is a great mechanic who has his own mobile business.

While on a holiday with my sister in Brisbane, I went on an Access Street Van with her and was quite amazed at the amount of people who are homeless and needy, and decided that we should have a van in Townsville, we have now been on the road for 18 months and we are seeing more and more people.

When I got back to Townsville I told a friend about it and it just took off from there, the van and signwriting being donated, and people being there to assist in anyway they could.

Besides the homeless there are a lot of people who need our help even though they have accommodation - as you would be aware the rents are very high and some are in commission homes, boarding houses, halfway houses etc. who find it very hard to make the dollar stretch at the end of the week.

Of course we see a lot of people who have just made wrong choices, but then we look at that and say "haven't we all", we were just fortunate that we either woke up to where we were heading or had a good family to guide and support us.

We have built up a lot of good relationships with the different people and although the sandwiches and beverages are appreciated, just showing that we care and are willing to listen to them without judging is even more important. We make very sure they realise that everybody is important and we are all on this earth for a reason.

I hope I have been able to give you a little bit of insight to our organisation, which has been able to stand alone from our Head Office in Brisbane, who have been going for 16 years.

If there is any further information you would like to have, please give me a call or of course forward an email.

Once again thank you so very much you wonderful donation helped a great deal as we are all volunteers and no-one is paid.

Kindest regards,

Trudy Lightfoot

Oh bless! I'm reminded more & more what a special group we're a part of here every time I turn the computer on.

just showing that we care and are willing to listen to them without judging is even more important. We make very sure they realise that everybody is important and we are all on this earth for a reason

...........should relate to every thing, every day in life.

I'm forever grateful being part of ODW. :1smile:
